Safeguarding Policy
‘Anybody using, visiting or working in Mickleham Village Hall and its outside areas has a responsibility to promote the welfare of all children, young people and vulnerable adults, to keep them safe and to practise in a way that protects them.’
The trustees of Mickleham Village Hall ensure that we provide a safe physical environment for children, young people, staff and volunteers, by applying health and safety measures in accordance with the law and regulatory guidance
All children, young people and vulnerable adults have the right to protection from any form of abuse. If anybody suspects that any abuse of a child, young person or vulnerable adult is occurring and that the person is in immediate danger, they have a duty to call 999 and report it to the police. Where there is no immediate danger, the matter should be reported to the Designated Safeguarding Lead for Mickleham Village Hall Mrs Hilary Budd phone 01372 361 021 or to the following:-
For concerns relating to a child or vulnerable adult:-
Children’s Single Point of Access (C-SPA) phone 0300 470 9100, out of hours 01483 517898 or email cspa@surreycc.gov.uk.
People who hire the Hall on a regular basis are required to have their own safeguarding policy. Working in partnership with parents, carers and other agencies is essential in promoting Children, young people and vulnerable adults welfare. Safeguarding policies must require that both paid staff and volunteers have adequate safeguarding training. Occasional hirers do not require their own safeguarding policy but must comply with the Village Hall safeguarding statement
Hirers of the Hall should be aware that toilets may be shared with other users of the Hall.
